MDLBEAST - CHASE THE STORM

MDLBEAST’s Soundstorm, Saudi’s first multi-day electronic music and arts festival was a rollercoaster of emotions to Saudis when it launched in 2019. It wasn’t just a festival, it changed the face of Saudi youth culture forever.For the sophomore launch of the festival, while working as creative director at MDLBEAST, Hammad wanted to show the Saudi youth for the first time in a setting they’ve never been seen before. MDLBEAST was born out of an underground party scene that’s been brewing for years, and we decided to feature all the real people from the scene in the film, collaborators, DJ’s, artists, and dance-floor regulars that made up the party and art scene and now have a melting pot where they can celebrate their creativity to the rhythm of one beat. The fast paced rhythm of the film was a manifestation of what the “storm” feels like eep inside your bones. Oh yeah.
